Bio

Christine Texiera is an artist based in Western Massachusetts.

Texiera received a degree in Mathematics from the University of Lowell. Due to scheduling competition, she was forced into the notoriously time intensive, Drawing 101 class. She was instantly hooked on figure drawing. She then spent 10 years drawing with the Naked Ladies drawing collective in New Salem.

Texiera is interested in art journaling, collage and mixed media. She has been painting using various techniques for 25 years.

At the onset of the pandemic, she left her shared studio in Millers Falls. Wanting to still connect with other artists she looked to the great outdoors and began a foray into landscape paintings. Looking for easy portability she tried her hand at watercolor. She struggled through the unpredictability and unforgiving nature of the medium until she didn’t hate it any longer.

Christine lives in Wendell MA, where she enjoys her family, her dog and her downstairs home studio.
