1. No larger than 600x400 pixel jpg or submit a link where one can be viewed online.

2. Include your name, title of piece and contact information. Please also let us know if you want to join a high speed or low speed Layer Cake. High speed cakes may get physical gallery space, low speed will be displayed on this site.

 

•• High Speed Layer Cake Specifications

1. 1200x1800 pixel, 4x6 inch, 300dpi, CMYK format. Files sizes start about 13 Mb compressed

2. Maximum 3 layers original, add no more than 3 layers per pass

3. Photos must follow copyright rules (you took it, you bought it or you got permission to use it)

4. Files should have the .psd so pc users can read them and compressed to zip format

 

•• Low Speed Layer Cake Specifications

1. 288x 432 pixel, 4x6 inch, 72dpi, RGB format. Files sizes start about 500 Kb compressed

2. Maximum 3 layers original, add no more than 3 layers per pass

3. Photos must follow copyright rules (you took it, you bought it or you got permission to use it)

4. Files should have the .psd so pc users can read them and compressed to zip format

 

•• Showings

LayerCake artists agree that their works can be in whatever potential showing (galleries, etc) that may come around. We want to keep the ability to display the LayerCake Project publicly.

 

•• Commercial Distribution / Compensation

LayerCake participants also give clearance for commercial distribution of LayerCake images. For a cake that potentially earns a profit, each participant will receive a fair and equal share. For instance, if a five piece cake got made into a poster, each member would earn exactly 1/5 of the profit.

The curators, having spent some money to get this project of the ground, reserve the right to pay for materials, marketing, and other expenses first off with such profits, before they are distributed to the individual artists.

In the case of single-image purchases, that particular artists is to decide her/his own affairs with whoever's involved.
